The match in the men's handball Champions League between Kristianstad and Danish outfit GOG was suspended after 51 minutes and 28 seconds when the Danes were leading 32-25 as a fire alarm went off in the arena. The arena was subsequently quickly cleared of all players and spectators.

Despite the interruption eight minutes before the end, when a fire alarm temporarily halted the match, GOG held firm and won the Champions League game against Kristianstad 37–32.

With this result, the Danes climbed to second place in the group ahead of the meeting between Pick Szeged and Sporting on Saturday.
