Panthers 3-2 Canucks
Another game, another Brady Tkachuk hat-trick. The Vancouver Canucks got out to a 2-0 lead, then Tkachuk proceeded to put the team on his back.
He scored twice to send the game into OT before eventually putting home the game-winner to cap off his incredible night.
The Florida Panthers improved to 4-2-2; the Canucks fell to 2-6-1.
Devils 7-1 Rangers
The New Jersey Devils dominated their rival New York Rangers. Luke Hughes recorded the first multi-goal game of his career with two in the win, bringing his goal total to three on the season.
Nico Hischier (4) and Arseny Gritsyuk (2) scored within 30 seconds of each other. And nine Devils players in total recorded at least one point, four of them with two points each.
They improved to 4-3-0. Rangers are back in the loss column as they fell to 6-3-0.
Senators 2-1 Islanders
It was a low-scoring affair between the two as the game went to a shootout with a 1-1 score. Shane Pinto eventually scored the shootout winner to give the Senators their sixth win as they improved to 6-2-0.
Matias Maccelli (2) scored the unassisted goal for the New York Islanders to put them up in the first, before the Ottawa Senators tied it up in the second with Ridly Greig's first goal of the season.
Isles fell to 3-3-1 despite outshooting the Sens 21-19.
Lightning 4-3 Kraken
In a game of rallies, Seattle Kraken's Matty Beniers scored the equalizer that made it 3-3 as the game went into overtime. But it was Tampa Bay Lightning star defenseman Victor Hedman that sent home the game-winner for his first goal of the season.
Tampa's Brandon Hagel was the only player of both teams to record more than one point after putting up two goals in their fifth win of the season as they improved to 5-2-0.
Seattle recorded their first OT loss of the season, falling to 5-2-1.
Sabres 5-4 Maple Leafs
The Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Sabres put on a show. Kirill Marchenko, who was acquired by the Leafs right before the season, put up a hat-trick as he brought his season total to four.
Toronto, however, had a scary moment after John Tavares left the game following a brutal collision with Josh Norris.
But it was the Sabres who prevailed after Owen Power scored his second game-winning OT goal this season. Buffalo improved to 4-3-1 as the Leafs fell to 3-3-2.
Red Wings 2-1 Flyers
The Philadelphia Flyers remain winless this season, falling to 0-6-3. Of their nine games, the Flyers have put up fewer than 20 shots on goal in six of them after recording just 19 against the Red Wings.
Matvei Michkov put them up 1-0, but Detroit's Anton Johansson scored his first NHL goal, then was followed up by Andrew Copp's first goal of the season late in the third.
Detroit, still struggling, improved to 2-3-2.
Blackhawks 4-3 Jets
The Chicago Blackhawks bested the Winnipeg Jets thanks to an overtime game-winner from Artyom Levshunov for his first goal of the season. Young superstar Connor Bedard scored his first goal as the team's new captain.
Winnipeg's Kyle Connor remains on fire as he scored his eighth goal of the season. But the Jets ultimately fell to 4-1-2, while the Blackhawks improved to 3-5-0.
Wild 5-4 Blues
A Matthew Boldy hat-trick and three goals in the second period were enough to hold off a late St. Louis Blues third period rally to take home their fifth win of the season, improving to 5-2-0.
Defenseman Jack Hughes extended his season-opening point streak to eight games after finishing with two assists. Meanwhile, Blues' Mason McTavish scored his fifth goal of the season and now has eight points in seven games.
Blues fell to 3-3-1.
Sharks 3-2 Predators
San Jose Sharks goalie Alex Nedeljkovic put up 32 saves in a heated battle that saw 66 combined shots (SJS - 32, NSH - 34). The Sharks got out to a 2-0 lead, but the Nashville Predators rallied, including a Steven Stamkos buzzer-beater for his fourth goal of the season that sent the game into OT.
But it was San Jose's young star Macklin Celebrini who finished it off with the winner in the shootout.
The Preds fell to 2-3-3, while the Sharks got back in the win column and improved to 4-3-0.
Mammoth 4-2 Oilers
Both teams put up 24 shots on goal, but it was the Utah Mammoth who prevailed in the end over the Edmonton Oilers thanks to a pair of goals from Clayton Keller as he brought his season total up to three.
Connor McDavid recorded his league-leading 14th assist on Leon Draisaitl's fifth goal of the season. No other player in the league has more than nine assists. McDavid also leads the league with 18 points.
Utah improved to 6-2-0 as they ride a three-game winning streak. Meanwhile, the Oilers suffered their first loss of the season in regulation, dropping to 5-1-1.
Golden Knights 6-2 Flames
In the late game, hosts Vegas topped Calgary 6-2, with Mark Stone netting a third-period hat-trick in the thrashing.
The win sees the Golden Knights go top of the Western Conference with a record of 7-2-0, while the Flames are dead last with just one win after seven matches.
