We've got a blockbuster women's final at the China Open today, as fourth seed Mirra Andreeva and home favourite Qinwen Zheng battle it out for the prestigious WTA 1000 title. Meanwhile, the Shanghai Masters moves into the third round, with Alexander Zverev and Ben Shelton among the headline names in action.

08:28 CET - Third seed Ben Shelton has been sent packing in Shanghai, with the American losing two tie-break sets in a 6-7(5), 6-7(3) third-round defeat to France's Arthur Gea.

It's a fourth loss in five matches for the US Open runner-up, as 56th-ranked Gea progresses to a fourth-round meeting with either Jakub Mensik or Francisco Cerundolo.

The in-form Karen Khachanov is also through to the fourth round at the Shanghai Masters after a dominant 6-2, 6-4 triumph over experienced Frenchman Adrian Mannarino.

The women’s showpiece event in Beijing takes place this afternoon at 13:30 CET, with fourth seed Mirra Andreeva coming up against home favourite and wildcard Qinwen Zheng.

French Open champion Andreeva, who is contesting her fourth WTA 1000 final, is set to rise to a career-high ranking of world number three in the updated rankings, while Olympic champion Zheng is enjoying a mightily impressive resurgence after dropping out of the top 150 last year.

Meanwhile, in Shanghai, the third round gets underway today, with Ben Shelton and Alex de Minaur already on court this morning against Arthur Gea and Rei Sakamoto, respectively.

Later on, top seed Alexander Zverev continues his tournament against France’s Quentin Halys, while Frances Tiafoe, Jakub Mensik and Alexander Bublik are the other standout names looking to progress to the fourth round.
