Jude Bellingham said England should have no fear in facing some of the world's greatest sides after beating Mexico at the Azteca stadium on Sunday.

The midfielder scored twice inside 98 seconds as ten-man England edged a five-goal thriller to book a quarter-final blockbuster against Norway

"We shouldn't fear anyone," he told reporters after the game. "We shouldn't wait 40 minutes, 50 minutes, 60 minutes to realise that we're a very good team.

"I hope that this winning instills that belief in the squad, because they deserve to feel that way about themselves.

"(Mexico) was a very, very difficult game. And next up is another very difficult one. We've had to deal with the altitude today - next up is the heat of Miami, so a tough run, but you can't win a World Cup without having to go through some big hurdles.

"Hopefully we're going to face it with the same intensity," he added.

England's win ensures Bellingham will come face-to-face with his former Borussia Dortmund teammate Erling Haaland after Norway stunned Brazil 2-1 earlier in the day.

The Manchester City striker has been in scintillating form in the tournament so far and has scored seven goals, including a brace against Brazil, to be in the contention for the Golden Boot along with Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe at his first World Cup.

England defender Dan Burn warned the Three Lions will need to be careful.

When asked by Flashscore whether Norway pose a significant threat in their first World Cup quarter-final, he said: "There are no surprises that Norway are at this stage of the competition.

"I think (during the World Cup qualifiers) they won every game. But Haaland... arguably one of the best strikers in the world.. it's going to be a huge challenge for us."

England teammate Ezri Konsa agreed, adding that players of Burn's calibre will be invaluable as the squad navigates its way through the tournament against the world's best strikers.

"I thought Dan Burn was excellent when he came on, and John Stones. Having those kind of players to come on and help us was a was a great feeling.

"With Erling Haaland, we'll have to focus on that (during the week) and when (the game) comes," he said.
