Jonas Vingaard on Sunday completed his cycling hat-trick as he won his third Grand Tour by claiming the overall win on the final stage of the Giro d'Italia as Jonathan Milan won the sprint in Rome ahead of Giovanni Lonardi and Paul Penhoet

Denmark's Jonas Vingegaard won the 2026 Giro d'Italia ‌on Sunday to ‌clinch his fourth ‌Grand Tour title, ‌having also won the ‌Tour de France twice before his ‌triumph at the Vuelta ‌a España last year.

The Visma-Lease a Bike rider, competing at the Giro for the first time, effectively secured the pink jersey on Saturday when he launched ‌a decisive attack during the climb to Piancavallo on stage 20, extending his overall lead to more than five minutes.

Italian Jonathan ‌Milan (Lidl-Trek) launched a spectacular attack in ‌the final kilometre to win Sunday's final stage in Rome.

After a Giro of near misses, Jonathan Milan ended his long wait for a stage win when he crossed the finishing line in first place after a late attacking finale which had briefly threatened to deny some of the fastest riders in the peloton.

Paul Magnier and Dylan Groenewegen were also well positioned going into the final kilometre, but Milan finally had the space to launch the fearless sprint that had been missing through much of the race.

In a safe position behind the sprint, Vingegaard crossed the line arm in arm with his Team Visma | Lease a Bike team-mates to celebrate one of the most dominant Grand Tour victories of recent years.
