Tottenham are prepared to fight to keep hold of Destiny Udogie, as Juventus begin to show interest in signing him this summer.

The 23-year-old left-back moved to Spurs in 2022 from Serie A side Udinese, and a return to Italy is now being mooted following a difficult season in London.

Spurs were almost relegated, and Udogie was in and out of the team as injuries hampered his campaign.

Sources insist that Spurs do not have him listed among the players they are looking to move on during the summer transfer window.

Defensive changes have been central to the club’s planning since the end of the season. But Roberto De Zerbi sees him becoming an important member of his line-up.

Juve have shown interest in the player previously and are now starting to test the waters to see whether his head could be turned.

Udogie’s transfer to Spurs almost four years ago was worth an initial £15 million, rising to around £20 million. However, his progress has been positive, and the club would now value him in the £40–50 million bracket.

He is contracted to Spurs until 2030, and Tottenham’s intention would be to fend off any offers at a time when they are looking to bounce back.

There is plenty of business to sort out, and De Zerbi has been in talks with the club about getting their house in order quickly.

They are set to make a decision made on defensive midfielder Joao Palhinha imminently. He has been on loan and can make the move permanent, but he has also attracted fresh interest from Sporting Lisbon that has created some intrigue.

Pedro Porro has been linked with Manchester City, but there is a possibility Spurs could look to tie him down to a new contract if he is to stay.

Cristian Romero is set to be a high-profile departure, while fellow defender Radu Dragusin is open to new opportunities. Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has also been strongly linked with a move to Inter Milan.

The positive news is that the club have been pursuing transfer moves of their own, with defence a key focus. Bournemouth’s Marcos Senesi and Liverpool’s Andy Robertson are both set to make moves to North London.
