On Sunday, Viborg FF delivered their best performance of the season so far, as the green-clad outfit completely dismantled FC Copenhagen on their home turf.
The Copenhagen side didn't stand a chance in the rout, which ended 4-0 in Viborg's favor. After just fifteen minutes, the team from the cathedral city was already leading 3-0, and from that point on, there was never any indication that the visitors would mount a comeback.
FC Copenhagen thus suffered their first Superliga defeat of the season, while Viborg continued their positive start to the campaign.
Bo Svensson's side bolstered their defense on Saturday by signing Asger Sorensen. However, there was absolutely no sign that FC Copenhagen had been strengthened going into the match.
Barely 50 seconds had passed before Sorensen witnessed new defensive colleague Birger Meling give the home side a dream start with a comical own goal.

Goalkeeper Alex Rúnarsson came out to head the ball away. It fell to Meling, who struck it far too hard with the inside of his foot, rolling into his own net.
Asger Sorensen, too, did not get off to the best start in his debut. During a build-up, he played the ball straight to a Viborg player and a few seconds later, Dorian Hanza finished off a clinical counter-attack.
FC Copenhagen's disastrous start was then compounded after fifteen minutes. This time, it was Gabriel Pereira’s turn to look foolish in the back line.
The centre-back stood by passively as the ball dropped from the sky right at the feet of Asker Beck, who extended the lead to 3–0. Bo Svensson likely gave the team a stern talking-to at halftime, but it didn't make much of a difference.
While the visitors did have more possession in the second half, their attack lacked even a shred of creativity or penetration. Instead, Viborg—who had everything under control—struck on the counter-attack. Charly Nouck finished off a sharp counter attack by beautifully curling the ball into the net to put the icing on the cake on a glorious Viborg afternoon.
