Clara Tauson will probably not compete in any further WTA tournaments this year. The Danish tennis player has withdrawn from the WTA 250 tournament in Osaka, Japan Open, and no longer appears on the entry list.

Tauson was also meant to be in action in the WTA tournament in Tokyo—where she was set to play the qualifiers—but given her withdrawal from the Osaka tournament and her return to Denmark, it's likely that we won't see Tauson in action for the rest of the year.

According to Flashscore sources, Tauson is now headed for Denmark after she retired during the second set of her match against Marie Bouzkova on Monday in Wuhan due to a calf injury.

Clara Tauson has endured a difficult season, recording only 16 wins, and has dropped to number 53 in the rankings.
