The New York Yankees are bringing back relief pitcher Tim Hill (34) on a one-year deal worth $2.85 million with a 2026 club option worth $3 million that includes a $350,000 buyout.
Hill threw a career-best 2.04 ERA for the Yankees last season out of the bullpen in 44 innings with just nine walks and 18 strikeouts.
After starting the season with the Chicago White Sox, Hill was released after throwing a 5.87 ERA in 27 games but found his stride in the Bronx.
Hill put up career numbers for WHIP (1.023), strikeout-walk ratio (2.00), and ERA+ (202). The seven-year veteran has a career 3.99 ERA across four different teams.
The California native was originally taken in the 32nd round of the 2014 MLB Draft by the Kansas City Royals. He made his debut in 2018 and spent just one more season with the Royals before heading to the San Diego Padres for four years (2020-2023).
