In Flashscore's weekly feature, we take a brief look at the big talking points of the last seven days in the NBA. In the last week, the Miami Heat have returned to form, and the Milwaukee Bucks have tailed off, while OG Anunoby and Josh Giddey made the headlines.

Team of the week

While the Oklahoma City Thunder and Boston Celtics continue to look imperious as we enter crunch time, it was also certainly a massive week for the Miami Heat.

Since Jimmy Butler's departure to the Golden State Warriors, the Heat have been in turmoil. They lost 10 games in a row, and tumbled into the play-in spots.

However, they have finally bounced back, winning four from four in the last seven days. Victories over the Charlotte Hornets, Atlanta Hawks, Philadelphia 76ers, and a thumping triumph over Butler and the Warriors have seen them consolidate a play-in spot.

Tyler Herro has been in red-hot form too, averaging 28.8 points in those games.

Underachievers of the week

Despite having one of the best three players in the league, Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Milwaukee Bucks always prove to be an inconsistent outfit, and the last week has backed that point up.

As well as being handed the gutting news of Damian Lillard being ruled out indefinitely due to a blood clot, the Bucks lost all four games last week.

A narrow defeat to the Phoenix Suns alongside losses to the Denver Nuggets, New York Knicks, and a heavy 145-124 crushing to the Atlanta Hawks, have showcased all of the Bucks' flaws and why they are so far away from winning a Championship.

The Hawks now hold the tiebreaker over the Bucks while being just four games off them in sixth place. If Milwaukee can't halt the negative spiral, they risk falling into the play-in positions.

Player of the week

While Tyler Herro was a strong contender, OG Anunoby has been simply unplayable of late.

With the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Celtics the dominant forces in the East, the Knicks have been aiming to confirm themselves as the third-best team in that Conference, and Anunoby's form will go some way to helping them secure that goal.

Over the last week, the Brit is averaging 30.5 points per game, 4.8 rebounds and 2.3 steals, while also shooting 59% from the field and 42.3% from behind the arc.

An elite performer, he has now had four straight games with 25+ PTS.

Play of the week

Nikola Jokic produced one of the assists of the season against the Milwaukee Bucks last week with a jaw-dropping no-look dime, and also pulled off a mind-boggling shot from way behind half-court.

But the play of the week came from Chicago Bulls' Josh Giddey, who nailed an incredible half-court buzzer beater to snatch a stunning victory against the Los Angeles Lakers. The Bulls had been trailing by 18 points in the fourth quarter and were down five points with around 10 seconds to go!

Story of the week

In one of the most surprising stories of the season, the Memphis Grizzlies fired head coach Taylor Jenkins just weeks before the start of the playoffs, despite having a 44-29 record.

The Grizzles sit in fifth in the Western Conference and even have a shot of finishing in second spot before the regular season comes to a close.

A lot of this success has been achieved without their star player, Ja Morant, who has missed a large portion of the season.

There is very little to be critical about when it comes to Jenkins, who has consistently proven to be adaptable with a team that has regularly struggled with injuries.

It was such a shocking decision that Grizzlies player GG Jackson thought the news was a wind-up!

So with nine games left of the season, this decision is ludicrous and unprecedented. Tuomas Iisalo has been appointed as interim head coach in the meantime, as conspiracy theories do the rounds.
