Virginia guard Isaac McKneely announced on Thursday that he will be transferring to Louisville after hitting the transfer portal.

The guard posted his announcement to X.

Not only is Virginia losing a guard to a fellow Atlantic Coast Conference opponent, but also their leading scorer.

McKneely averaged 14.4 points, 2.9 assists, and 2.7 rebounds for Virginia this past season while his 42.1 three-point percentage was the best in the ACC.

Virginia failed to make the NCAA tournament after the team lost 67-42 to Colorado St. in a First Four matchup.

The transfer shortly came after Virginia hired Ryan Odom as their new head coach.

Odom was the coach of the famous No. 16 seed UMBC team that took down the No. 1 seed Virginia in the 2018 NCAA tournament.
