Nathan Aspinall won his third European Tour title of the season at the German Darts Championship 2025, defeating Dirk van Duijvenbode 8-6 in Sunday's final.

Aspinall had already won the European Darts Trophy in Gottingen at the end of March and the European Darts Open in Leverkusen at the beginning of June this season.

He also lost the final of the International Darts Open at the beginning of April and missed out on his fourth title in 2025.

The final started at a reasonable level, and van Duijvenbode in particular kept hitting 180s. It almost came to perfection in the second leg. After two maximums, the 'Titan' finally missed the eighth dart on his way to the perfect leg. In the end, it was a 10-darter.

At 2-2, Aspinall began to take control of the final. The Englishman first secured the break to make it 4:2 and then 6:2, with 'The Asp' impressing in the latter with a 301 finish in six darts - a 180 was followed by a 121 checkout.

Aspinall missed the chance to make it 7-2 despite two darts at the doubles. Instead, van Duijvenbode managed to break back, which also signalled the start of the comeback.

Both players now scored worse, but it was the Dutchman who was able to make it 6-6 thanks to another re-break.

But while Aspinall got back to his scoring form in the final phase of the match, van Duijvenbode was unable to keep up.

As a result, Aspinall was first able to win his throw-in to make it 7-6 and finally end the match with a break.
