Odense and Ikast to face each other in CL-group phase, Aalborg to clash with Gidsel

Odense Handball will clash with Ikast in the group phase of next year's Champions League.

During Friday's draw, 16 teams were divided into two groups. There are eight teams in each group.

Team Esbjerg will play in group A and will not face any other Danish teams. Odense and Ikast will compete in group B.

Group A consists of the following teams: Storhamar, Metz, Györ, Borussia Dortmund, Team Esbjerg, Gloria Bistrita, Buducnost, and DVSC Schaeffler.

Györ is the defending champion in the tournament after winning this year's final against Odense.

Group B consists of the following teams: Ludwigsburg, Odense, CSM Bucharest, Brest, Ferencvaros, Podravka, Krim, and Ikast.

All teams will play 14 group matches.

The top two teams from each group advance to the quarter-finals. Numbers three, four, five, and six will play playoff matches to reach the quarter-finals.

The group stage begins on 6 and 7 September and ends on 21 and 22 February 2026.

Later on Friday, the draw was made for the men's group stage in the Champions League. Here, GOG and Aalborg were in the bowl, and they ended up in separate groups.

Aalborg were drawn in group A with Füchse Berlin, Veszprem, Kielce, Nantes, Sporting, Dinamo Bucharest, and Kolstad.

GOG ended up in Group B with Wisla Plock, Barcelona, ​​Paris Saint-Germain, Magdeburg, Pick Szeged, Zagreb, and Eurofarm Pelister.

Magdeburg won the Champions League last season with a victory in the final over Füchse Berlin.

The men's group stage begins on 10 and 11 September and runs until 11 and 12 March 2026.
