The Chicago Blackhawks signed goaltender Arvid Soderblom to a two-year, $5.5 million contract extension on Saturday.
Soderblom avoids an arbitration hearing with the new deal, keeping him in Chicago through the 2026-2027 season.
The 25-year-old posted a 10-18-7 record in 36 games, posting a 3.18 goals-against average and .898 save percentage.
Originally signed as an undrafted free agent, the Sweden native has been a member of the Blackhawks since 2021. His 31 starts this past season were a career-high.
Now, Soderlom will battle it out with teammate Spencer Knight for the starter position in the upcoming season.
