Devils 3-2 Hurricanes
Nico Hischier (2) got things started for the Devils with a goal in the first period that was followed by Dawson Mercer's first goal of the playoffs to have a manageable lead.
But after going down 2-0, the Hurricanes battled back in the third period with a pair of power play goals from Seth Jarvis and Sebastian Aho.
With both teams failing to get the edge over on one another in the first overtime period, Simon Nemec scored his first goal of the playoffs at the perfect time to give New Jersey the win and possibly saving their season.
The last time the Devils were in the playoffs was for the 2022-2023 season - the same one in which they lost to the Canes in five games.
Canadiens 6-3 Capitals
The Habs won what could possibly be considered the feistiest game of the playoffs so far.
After scoring the first goal of the game, Washington had to keep playing from behind. Once the score hit 3-3 thanks to a goal from Alexander Ovechkin in the third period, the Habs unloaded three straight goals.
Christian Dvorak scored the first of the final three goals for the Habs which was just under two minutes following Ovi's goal.
Capitals goaltender Logan Thompson left the game in the third period after teammate Dylan Strome skated into him, leaving Thompson unable to put weight on his left leg which folded in a direction it shouldn't have.
The game saw a total of 42 penalty minutes between both teams after a full-out fight broke out heading into the second period, which birthed this incredible Tom Wilson reaction.
But it was the Habs that got the last laugh as they cut the series deficit to 2-1.
Oilers 7-4 Kings
The Edmonton Oilers bounced back from two defeats to get their first win in their series with the Los Angeles Kings.
They made a strong start, going 2-0 up in the opening nine minutes through Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Evan Bouchard.
However, the Kings then rallied and scored three goals without response. By the end of the second period, they were 4-3 up.
The hosts fought back though, scoring twice in the 13th minute of the final period to take the lead and then getting two more when the Kings sacrificed their goaltender in search of an equaliser.
