The New York Yankees tied the MLB record for the most home runs hit during a two-game span following their win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday night.

Trent Grisham and Austin Wells both his two home runs each, while Giancarlo Stanton added one himself en route to a series sweep over the Rays.

New York are the only team in all of baseball with over 200 home runs this season (209). The second-most? Los Angeles Dodgers with 188.

Just a day beforehand, the Yankees tied a franchise record with nine home runs in a single game.

For those who remember, the Yankees originally set that record back in May - yes, they hit nine home runs in a game twice in the same season.

Every Yankees player to hit a home run in the past two days includes: Grisham (x2), Wells (x2), Stanton (x3), Cody Bellinger (x2), Jose Caballero (x2),  Aaron Judge (40th), Jazz Chisholm Jr., and Ben Rice.

The Bronx Bombers are 69-57, sitting just 4.0 games back of the Toronto Blue Jays for the top spot in the American League East.

They're 8-2 in their last 10 games with a 111+ run differential - the third best in all of baseball behind the Milwaukee Brewers (+162) and Chicago Cubs (+116).

New York will now be heading back home to take on their dreaded rival Boston Red Sox for a three-game series. This is a critical series for both teams, with the Red Sox sitting just a game-and-a-half behind the Yankees with a 68-59 record.
