Blue Jackets 3-0 Devils
Thanks to a pair of goals from Mathieu Olivier (8), and an unassisted one from Dante Fabbro (4), the Blue Jackets continue to roll under Bowness.
Columbus goaltender Elvis Merzlikins recorded 24 saves in his first shutout of the season and the 12th of his career, as his Blue Jackets improved to 28-20-7.
New Jersey's woes continue as they dropped to 28-26-2 sitting at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with the New York Rangers. In regard to fans losing hope, Devils centre Jack Hughes said, "I honestly have nothing to say to them."
Islanders 5-4 Penguins
With just four seconds left in the first period, rookie sensation Matthew Schaefer put the Isles up 2-1 with his 16th goal of the season. But the Penguins responded with two straight goals of their own to go up 3-2 heading into the third period.
After New York's Mathew Barzal tied it up with a slap shot near the blue line for his 16th of the season, Pittsburgh pulled ahead once more with a goal from Justin Brazeau (15) just a few minutes later.
With under five minutes to go in regulation, the Islanders rallied once more as Ryan Pulock (3) tied it up to send it to overtime, where Bo Horvat (23) scored the game-winner and his second goal of the game, helping the Islanders improve to 31-21-5.
Pittsburgh dropped to 28-15-12.
Lightning 4-3 Sabres
After their historic comeback win over the Bruins in the Stadium Series on Sunday, Tampa Bay was hungry for another comeback win.
The Lightning went down 2-1 before Oliver Bjorkstrand (9) tied it up, then again 3-2 before Darren Raddysh (17) tied it up once more to send it to overtime.
From there, Jake Guentzel scored the game-winner with his 25th goal of the season as the Lightning improved to an Eastern Conference best 36-14-4, extending their win streak to four games as well.
Tampa Bay star Nikita Kucherov tied Connor McDavid for the league-lead in assists with 61 after tallying three in the win, along with his 29th goal of the year.
Buffalo dropped to 32-18-6.
Hurricanes 4-3 Senators
Stephen Halliday (4) got the Sens up 1-0 early on, but the Canes scored three-straight unanswered with the first coming from Sebastian Aho (20) and the next two from Seth Jarvis (25), both assisted by Aho.
Tim Stutzle (27) and Jake Sanderson (11) helped rally the Sens back to a 3-3 tie, but Carolina's Jordan Staal (14) hit a late goal in the third to give Carolina the win as they extended their point streak to nine and improved their record to 35-15-6.
Ottawa fell to 27-22-7.
Flyers 4-2 Capitals
Philly ended their four-game skid thanks to a pair of late goals in the third period from Jamie Drysdale (4) and Rasmus Ristolainen (1).
Washington dropped to 28-23-7, while the Flyers, a team under some heavy trade rumors, improved to 25-20-10.
Maple Leafs 5-2 Oilers
John Tavares became just the fifth active player with at least 16 20-goal seasons after scoring the tie-breaking goal in the third period that eventually led to the Maple Leafs win.
The others? Alex Ovechkin (21), Sidney Crosby (18), Patrick Kane (17), and Steven Stamkos (16).
Toronto's Matias Maccelli (10) would score on a power play to double the Leafs' lead 4-2 before Bobby McMann (19) sent home the empty-netter as they improved to 27-21-9, extending their win streak to three.
Edmonton has now lost back-to-back as they dropped to 28-21-8.
