In a five-game slate on Sunday, New Islanders rookie sensation Matthew Schaefer (18) took the spotlight after rallying his team to a comeback win over the Columbus Blue Jackets!

Islanders 3-2 Blue Jackets

Islanders rookie Matthew Schaefer rallied the team past the Blue Jackets with two goals en route to their sixth win of the season.

Schaefer got things started with a power play goal before Miles Wood (4) and Denton Mateychuk (3) put the Blue Jackets up 2-1.

But with under two minutes left in the game, Schaefer scored his fifth goal of the season to tie it up before Simon Holmstrom (4) sent home the eventual game-winner with 38 seconds left in regulation.

New York improved to 6-5-1, Columbus fell to 7-5-0.

Lightning 4-2 Mammoth

The Lightning won their fifth straight game after Jake Guentzel (5) broke the 2-2 tie in the third period with an unassisted goal.

Teammate Brandon Hagel (4) would put up the fourth and final goal of the game with any empty netter to hand Utah their second straight loss.

Yanni Gourde (3) and Anthony Cirelli (7) scored the other two goals for Tampa Bay.

Lawson Crouse (2) and Kailer Yamamoto (1) scored for Utah, both assisted by Ian Cole

Flames 2-1 Flyers

Jonathan Huberdeau's (4) two goals were all that the Flames needed to improve to 3-9-2 on the season to break their three-game losing streak.

Travis Konecny (4) got the Flyers on the board in the third period, but the team failed to find the net, falling to an Eastern Conference-worst 6-5-1 (13 points).

Red Wings 3-2 Sharks

San Jose Sharks rookie Sam Dickinson scored his first career NHL goal against the Red Wings. But the Sharks ultimately fell to the Red Wings after James van Riemsdyk shot the game-winner during a shootout.

Lucas Raymond (4) put the Red Wings up 1-0 before San Jose's Jeff Skinner (4) responded just 49 seconds into the third period.

Moritz Seider (1) would score his first of the season to regain the lead for Detroit, but Dickinson would tie it up for the Sharks with just over three minutes left in regulation.

Detroit outshot San Jose 31-18 as they improved to 9-4-0.

San Jose fell to 4-6-3 after winning back-to-back games against the New Jersey Devils and Colorado Avalanche.

Ducks 4-1 Devils

Despite Jack Hughes scoring his 10th goal of the season, the Ducks ultimately won their third straight to improve to 7-3-1 and the top spot in the Pacific Division.

Anaheim got out to a commanding 3-0 lead thanks to goals from Beckett Sennecke (4), Frank Vatrano (1), and Cutter Gauthier (7) before Hughes got the Devils on board.

But Chris Kreider (6) would send home an empty-netter to put the final nail in the coffin as the Devils fell to 9-4-0.

Anaheim goaltender Lukas Dostal's 32-save night was his best of the season.
