World number one Judd Trump (35) staged a remarkable comeback to defeat Ding Junhui (37) 6-3 in their Masters quarter-final at Alexandra Palace on Friday afternoon.

After trailing 3-1, Trump rattled off five consecutive frames to secure victory and surpass Ronnie O'Sullivan's record for the most prize money earned in a single season.

Trump's earnings for the season are now approaching £1.3 million, a testament to his consistent dominance on the snooker circuit.

"It's amazing to play like that in front of these fans," Trump said in his post-match interview with Eurosport.

"Coming out here is the best feeling in the world. I am absolutely thrilled to have played to that standard after the interval.

"It's so inspiring to play in this venue."

He delivered a series of brilliant breaks, effectively shutting down Ding's momentum.

Ding, who had established a comfortable lead, was limited to 39 points in the remaining frames.

A crucial turning point arrived in the sixth frame. Ding, leading 3-2, had meticulously crafted a chance to win the frame but missed a straightforward red ball into the corner pocket.

Trump seized the opportunity, levelling the score and propelling himself toward victory.

Trump will now face either Kyren Wilson or Luca Brecel in the semi-finals on Saturday.
