Bo Henriksen said that his team should be considered humans, not robots when he was asked to explain why Mainz were relatively far from their best during the first half OF the away encounter against Borussia Dortmund where the unsung visitors lost 3-1.

High-flying Mainz went into the match carrying plenty of momentun against a Dortmund who had lost four of their last six matches and only have 35 points to show for 26 matches (their poorest record since 2007).

However, with half-time looming, Dortmund twice made the breakthrough before the break much to the disappoitment of Henriksen who admitted that the visitor's performance left something to be desired.

"I don't have an explanation for why we played like that in the first half. We lost 60% of the duels in the air and we didn't play with enough intenity in the man-to-man duels on the ground. I can't explain it, but that's life."

"You are also not always the best reporter in the world (Henriksen said to the journalist who posed the question). We are humans, not robots. We weren't there 100% and just like in life, if you don't do things 100%, then you will get into trouble and that is also what happened today", said Henriksen on the press conference after the match.

After their defeat Mainz were overtaken in third spot by Eintracht Frankfurt and are in fourth spot in the Bundesliga with 43 points. Mainz will get a chance to make up for their poor performance in Dortmund when they face Holstein Kiel in thee MAWA-Arena on Saturday.
