The Azerbaijan side have it all to do in England on Tuesday as they seek to overturn a five-goal deficit after losing the first leg 6-1.
In the history of European football, no side has overturned a first-leg deficit of five or more goals to progress with this being the 301st of such a scenario.
Moreover, English sides have now won nine of their 10 matches against Qarabag (D1), with an aggregate score of 33-2 across those victories.
However, Addai describes this herculean task as not so impossible, stating they will fight till the end.
“There is nothing impossible,” he said in an exclusive interview with Flahscore.
“Football is a game and anything can happen. I won’t say it is the end. You never know till the game is over. We will try our best to come back.”
Newcastle raced into a five-goal lead in the first leg in Azerbaijan, proving too strong for their opponents.
Addai admits Newcastle were better on the day, but feels that the second leg presents a new opportunity.
“In the first leg, we could see that it was another level against Newcastle. They were very strong and big, but we will see what happens in the second leg.”
The 24-year-old made his Champions League debut this season and scored in Qarabag’s 2-0 victory over Copenhagen.
