Alphonso Davies, a 24-year-old defender who has been rumoured all season to be in line for a move to the left side of Real Madrid's defence next season, has landed himself in serious trouble in Munich. He was stopped by local police after being caught gesticulating strangely while driving a Lamborghini Urus worth more than 200,000 euros.
According to Bild, the media outlet that revealed the information, the officers ordered the Canadian footballer to stop because of the possibility that he had been drinking and could be a danger to other drivers. Once they approached him, they detected that he smelled of alcohol and proceeded to carry out a breathalyser test in which he tested positive with no less than 0.6 grams of alcohol per litre of exhaled air.
Dr. Gennaro Festa, a criminal lawyer contacted by the German newspaper, says that the Bayern Munich player faces a fine of 500 euros and a month's suspension of his driving licence, a document he was not deprived of at the time of the incident.
Now, it remains to be seen whether the Bavarian club will take any kind of sanctioning measure internally, as it could impose a higher fine and, who knows, even a game without playing.
