Oliver Kahn is apparently interested in joining recently relegated side Girondins Bordeaux as the club look to find their feet again.
Talks "in the early stages"
The French newspaper "Sud Ouest", based in Bordeaux, reported in December that former Olympique-Marseille boss Jacques-Henri Eyraud had made initial contact with Girondins owner Gerard Lopez on behalf of Oliver Kahn.
This was also confirmed by the former world-class goalkeeper and former FC Bayern CEO on Thursday when asked by the Bild newspaper:"Talks about a possible move to Girondins Bordeaux are at an early stage. There is nothing more to say at the moment," said Kahn.
Kahn stepped down as Munich CEO 19 months ago, shortly after the club's eleventh consecutive championship. In Bordeaux, he would have to do some development work. The six-time French champions were relegated to the fourth division after going bankrupt in the summer.
