The final round of Premier League fixtures for 2024 - and one in 2025 - have now passed which means it's time for Flashscore to look at the best performers in our latest Team of the Week.

Liverpool and Arsenal picked up important victories in the title race while Chelsea stumbled to a shock defeat against Ipswich - leaving the Blues without a win in three games.

At the other end of the table, Wolves snatched a late 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur while Leicester were condemned to a fourth straight defeat by Manchester City.

There were several standout performers - particularly in attack - so let's take a look at who made our Team of the Week, based on Flashscore's player ratings system.

Goalkeeper

Christian Walton (Ipswich) 7.7

Ipswich goalkeeper Christian Walton excelled in the Tractor Boys' 2-0 win against Chelsea, making five saves in his first appearance since August to help his side to a first clean sheet in over three months.

Walton has been out of favour this season but was given a chance against the Blues and put in a superb performance - achieving the highest rating of any goalkeeper in the latest round of Premier League fixtures.

Defence

Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) 9

The best performer of the week was Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold, who put in an exceptional showing during the Reds' 5-0 win away at West Ham.

The defender made three key passes and created two big chances in a game that Liverpool dominated from start to finish and capped off a superb performance with a goal from distance during the second half.

Alexander-Arnold earned a Flashscore rating of 9.0 - the highest of any player during the week - making him our Premier League Player of the Week.

Trevoh Chalobah (Crystal Palace) 8.3

Another defender who found the net over the festive period was Trevoh Chalobah, who stood out in Crystal Palace's 2-1 win against Southampton.

The Englishman was on hand to equalise after Palace had initially gone behind early in the match before Eberechi Eze netted the winner during the second half.

Chalobah also put in a top defensive showing with six clearances, two tackles and two interceptions.

Dan Burn (Newcastle) 8.2

Dan Burn was dominant during Newcastle's 2-0 win over Manchester United and helped his side to third consecutive clean sheet.

The Englishman came out on top against United's youthful attack with six clearances, four tackles, two interceptions and one block - as the Magpies continued their strong run of form heading into the New Year.

Dango Ouattara (Bournemouth) 8.6

Dango Ouattara was brought on as a substitute during Bournemouth's 2-2 draw against Fulham and netted an 89th-minute equaliser to ensure the Cherries kept within touching distance of the top six spots in the table.

The 22-year-old had a huge impact on the fixture despite only being on the pitch for 25 minutes, completing two dribbles and making one key pass before netting the all-important leveller.

Midfield

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) 8.2

This is the third set of fixtures in a row that Mohamed Salah has made our Team of the Week, with the forward excelling for Liverpool once again in their match with West Ham.

Salah picked up a goal and two assists at the London Stadium to take his overall goal contribution total to 30 for the season - the Egyptian has both the most goals (17) and most assists (13) in the entire division for 2024/25.

He also has the highest average rating of any player in the Premier League at 7.9.

Leon Bailey (Aston Villa) 8.2

Leon Bailey put in a top performance during Aston Villa's 2-2 draw against Brighton, causing plenty of issues for the opposition defence during his 77 minutes on the pitch.

The winger didn't manage a goal or assist but did complete nine dribbles, three key passes and won 13 duels in what turned out to be a good attacking display from the Jamaican.

For the record, we know he isn't a central midfielder (nor is the next entry) but we've had to get a little creative to include the top-rated players from the latest fixtures!

Cody Gakpo (Liverpool) 8.7

The third Liverpool player to make our side this week is Cody Gakpo following his goal during the Reds' win against West Ham.

Gakpo netted his fifth of the league season at the London Stadium and was unlucky not to register an assist after creating one big chance and making two key passes.

The Dutchman is part of a fluid attacking unit under Arne Slot and is establishing himself as a key performer for the league leaders.

Simon Adingra (Brighton) 8.4

Simon Adingra opened the scoring during Brighton's draw against Aston Villa with a well-placed finish past Emiliano Martinez - his fifth goal of the season.

The winger also contributed plenty defensively with three tackles and two interceptions before being substituted just before the hour mark, earning an 8.4 Flashscore rating for his efforts.

Attack

Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) 8.3

Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins picked up a goal and an assist in their draw with Brighton and was unlucky not to come away with more after missing two big chances.

The striker converted from the penalty spot for his eighth of the campaign before setting up Morgan Rogers to give Villa a 2-1 lead - although they couldn't hold on for a valuable three points.

Watkins also had a decent creative influence on the match with four key passes.

Liam Delap (Ipswich) 8.2

Liam Delap has been somewhat of a revelation for Ipswich this season and netted his seventh of the season in their 2-0 win over Chelsea.

He was first fouled in the box and then scored the resulting penalty and also set up Omari Hutchinson for the second goal in what turned out to be an exceptional performance from the striker.
