The 26-year-old Noa Lang joined Napoli for a total fee of €28 million in the summer, but failed to leave a mark at the Italian champions after recording just one goal and two assists in 18 Serie A appearances.
Lang, a 15-time Dutch international, now joins Turkish champions Galatasaray on a six-month loan. The Istanbul outfit pay a loan fee of €2 million to Napoli and have a non-mandatory option to buy Lang for €30 million at season's end.
"I am proud, I am very happy right now," Lang said in a club statement.
"I am looking forward to this challenge. It will be a new chapter for me. My teammates have also given me a very warm welcome. I’m confident we’ll have a great time together and achieve great things. I’m very happy to be part of this family.”
It is Lang's second stint in Turkey after playing in the youth academy of fellow Istanbul giants Besiktas in 2010. Being back in the Turkish metropolis brings back good memories, he admitted.
"Istanbul is a very special place. When I looked out the hotel window, I saw my old school. It really has a special meaning, and I’m so happy to be home again.”
Noa Lang is under contract in Naples until 2030.
