There are just eight women left in Madrid, and the quarter-finals get going today with the top seeds in action. On the men's side, the last four quarter-final berths will be sewn up.

00:30 CET - Lorenzo Musetti is moving on in Madrid as he takes out Alex De Minaur 6-4, 6-2. The Italian continued his fine form, winning 80% of his first serve points, while he was seldom broken throughout the contest.

23:17 CET - The final match of the day sees two of the most impressive players of the clay-court season so far go head to head, with Alex De Minaur taking on Lorenzo Musetti in a repeat of the Monte Carlo semi-final.

Follow it here.

22:50 CET - The world number one has survived a serious test tonight. Aryna Sabalenka has moved into the Madrid semi-finals with a 7-6, 7-6 win over Marta Kostyuk with both sets lasting over an hour.

Sabalenka was very nearly taken to a decider, saving three set points in the final tiebreak.

22:05 CET - Lucky Loser Gabriel Diallo has come from behind to claim the biggest win of his career yet, beating Grigor Dimitrov 5-7, 7-6, 6-4 in a two-and-a-half-hour battle.

Dimitrov will be kicking himself after failing to convert three match points in the second-set tiebreak.

21:47 CET - A marathon first set in Madrid has finally been won by Aryna Sabalenka after almost one and a half hours of gripping tennis against Marta Kostyuk.

Sabalenka claimed the first set 7-6 (7-4) after a tense tiebreak decided an incredibly evenly matched first set.

18:01 CET - Elina Svitolina's stunning run of form has continued with the 17 seed beating surprise quarter-finalist Moyuka Uchijima 6-2, 6-1 in under an hour.

Svitolina has now won 11 matches in a row and hasn't even dropped a single set in those matches! Next up could be her biggest test yet though if Aryna Sabalenka can get past Marta Kostyuk tonight.

17:23 CET - What a season Jack Draper is having. The world number six has moved into the last eight on the men's side with a hugely impressive 6-2, 6-2 win against Tommy Paul.

One more win will see the 23-year-old leapfrog Novak Djokovic and move into the top five in the world rankings for the first time.

16:44 CET - Coco Gauff has stormed into the semis, beating Mirra Andreeva 7-5, 6-1 with the second set lasting just 29 minutes. The Russian initially caused her a lot of the trouble, but the American then stepped up her game.

14:54 CET - World number two Iga Swiatek has won a rollercoaster of a match against fifth seed Madison Keys, battling back after being bageled in the opening set to win 0-6, 6-3, 6-2.

In the first men's match of the day meanwhile, 16th seed Frances Tiafoe has lost 6-3, 7-5 to Matteo Arnaldi.

08:50 CET - Former Roland Garros winner Jim Courier has said that Novak Djokovic's shock withdrawal from next week's Italian Open should be a huge worry for the 24-time Grand Slam champion as he heads to the French Open without a win on clay this season.
