Tennis Tracker: Kenin and Rybakina surge into Tokyo semi-finals, Muchova crashes out

It is quarter-finals Friday on the WTA Tour with last eight action to look forward to from Tokyo, Vienna and Basel, with names such as Felix Auger-Aliassime, Alexander Zverev, Jannik Sinner and Karolina Muchova all in action.

13:27 CET - Belinda Bencic has been struggling to go deep in competitions lately, but a big victory against rival Karolina Muchova in Tokyo has booked her spot in the semi-finals and given the Swiss player hope of a WTA title. 

Bencic came from a set down to win 3-6, 7-5, 7-5, and she will face Sofia Kenin in tomorrow morning's semi-final.

11:37 CET - Qualifier and world number 305 Claire Liu has sealed a spot in the Guangzhou semi-finals after coming from behind to claim a shock 4-6, 6-0, 6-4 victory over Ella Seidel.

09:10 CET - Over in Guangzhou, qualifier Lulu Sun has stunned Caty McNally 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 to reach the semi-finals.

09:00 CET - Sofia Kenin becomes the third semi-finalist after coming through an epic battle against Ekaterina Alexandrova to win 6-0, 2-6, 7-6 (3) in Tokyo. 

07:30 CET - Good morning and welcome back to quarter-final Friday! After Anna Kalinskaya's retirement earlier on after going a set down, in-form Linda Noskova booked the first semi-final spot in Tokyo. And number two seed Elena Rybakina avoided a potential upset against the exciting teenager to win 6-3, 7-6 (4) and become the second semi-finalist.
