UAB safety Sirad Bryant received a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty after purposely stepping on Tennessee kicker Max Gilbert's foot during the first quarter of Saturday's matchup.

Gilbert seemed fine as he went 8-for-8 on extra points as Tennessee took home the 56-24 win, while Bryant finished with just four tackles as UAB dropped to 2-2 on the season, 0-2 on the road.

Bryant has a history of dirty plays. Before transferring to UAB from Georgia Tech, Bryant received a game misconduct in a game against Georgia after he dove head-first into another player's face while lying down on the turf.

The UAB safety is a fifth-year Senior and has recorded just one interception in his collegiate career. After never recording more than seven tackles in a season as a backup at Georgia Tech, Bryant posted 59 last year for UAB as a starter.

Gilbert, on the other hand, is a Sophomore who has hit 6-of-7 field goals this season, including a career-long 53-yarder. He did, however, miss a crucial kick earlier this season that ultimately led to the team's loss to Georgia.

Since his Freshman year, Gilbert has gone a perfect 71-of-71 in extra points. His 85.7% field goal percentage is third in the Southeastern Conference this season among kickers with at least five field goal attempts, while his 17 extra points are the second most (17).
