Corentin Moutet v Alexander Bublik (29/10/2025)

Corentin Moutet has discovered a new level of consistency this year, something that was missing throughout his career and often held him back from making real progress on the main tour. Backed by sustained hard work and a more stable game, he has already recorded 41 wins in ten months, the most he has achieved in a single season, producing several deep runs and now standing on the verge of a top-30 debut.

The Frenchman has carried his progress several steps forward during the ongoing indoor swing, producing consistent results across all three tournaments he has entered. He began with a runner-up finish in Almaty two weeks ago, followed it up with a quarterfinal run in Vienna last week, and opened his Paris Masters campaign with a spirited three-set comeback win over Reilly Opelka on Tuesday.

Moutet has made only two round-of-16 appearances at the Masters level so far in his career, and the first of those came here at home in Paris back in 2022, when he entered as a qualifier and defeated Cameron Norrie in the second round, a player ranked inside the top 20 at the time.

Alexander Bublik, like Corentin Moutet, is also enjoying a very successful stretch on the main tour in recent months. The scale of his achievements, however, has been even greater, as he has captured four ATP titles this season and reached a career-high ranking of No. 16.

He has carried that strong form into the indoor swing as well, reaching the quarterfinals in Vienna last week, where he was stopped by Jannik Sinner, and starting his Paris Masters campaign with a comfortable straight-sets win over Alexei Popyrin in the first round.

The big-serving Kazakh has compiled a dominant record against left-handed opponents in 2025, winning seven of nine matches so far. Interestingly, both of his losses came against French players: Ugo Humbert in Marseille and Adrian Mannarino in Beijing more recently.

Head-to-head: Alexander Bublik leads 3-0. Both players share a similar profile, being highly talented yet historically unpredictable and prone to lapses in focus and motivation. To their credit, both have made significant progress this season in improving their consistency and professionalism. However, Bublik still holds the edge, and his performance level and motivation on the day are likely to determine the outcome.
